One of my December highlights each year is Barack Obama's book list. I get excited when books I have read & loved make the list and I go to my local bookstore to purchase the books that I'm eager to read. Barack has taste.
This year, I decided to make my own list. I'm an avid reader but I should note that during the first few months of the pandemic, I could not get myself to read. Just couldn't focus enough to read a novel. However, this summer once things had settled a bit and we moved into our new home, I spent a lot of time reading on my patio.
Without further ado, here are my favorite books that I read this year:
Important note: I only buy my books from local, small bookstores! During the pandemic I took a hard look at my spending and realized I needed to shift away from shopping on Amazon and start shopping local as much as possible. Plus, who doesn't love spending time in a small bookstore?! My favorite book stores are Books Are Magic in Brooklyn, NY, and Diane's Books in Greenwich, CT.
