katie's grandfather, peter, carried a wooden buddha with him during his deployment in europe in WWII and every morning when he woke up, he would rub the tummy for good luck. her grandmother also kept a wooden buddha with her and would rub its tummy every morning and wish for her husband's safety. peter returned home from WWII in 1945 and the buddha became an important symbol for luck for the family. this collection of buddha stacking bracelets is named after the nickname katie's grandfather had for her grandmother; ellie.
